The reskilling challenge

We are facing the biggest transformation in the way we work in human history. AI will render 30-60% of current jobs redundant, and according to the World Economic Forum, 60% of workers will require reskilling by 2027.

For the first time, six generations will be in the same teams, meaning we need new skills to communicate, collaborate and transfer corporate IP while meeting shifting expectations.

Traditional learning and development programmes are falling far short, leaving organisations without the scalable solutions needed to re-skill their entire workforce.

Case study

79% of L&D professionals agree that it’s difficult to get employees to take ownership of their own skill development [Gartner, 2024]; yet only 26% of U.S. employees strongly agree that their organisation encourages them to learn new skills [Gallup & Workhuman, 2024]. This indicates a significant opportunity for improvement in fostering a culture of continuous learning. We see this time and time again in organisations.

By delivering a ready-made curriculum and the framework for employees of all levels of seniority to engage and learn in peer groups, we motivate employees to own their development, significantly increasing engagement and completion.

Challenge:

Leadership’s biggest challenge was to inspire consistent reskilling efforts by employees on a self-led basis using digital learning resources. Talent would reskill and move to more competitive organisations, while engagement and productivity in the remaining workforce would deteriorate. The rest of the employee base would start digital self-paced learning through company platforms, but completion rates were very low and engagement scores were on a downwards trajectory.

Solution:

By providing human connection, a defined training schedule and exposure to senior leaders, our framework helped the customer deliver tailored reskilling content, create the capacity, and build the sustainable motivation for their employees to achieve continuous reskilling. Instead of declining engagement, they achieved increased innovation, collaboration and creativity, building values for their customers and stakeholders.
